A large number of veterans, as they have aged, come to understand the effect that Agent Orange has on their body and are seeking information and assistance, that they come to see is available through a VVA membership. Many retirees that have found time on their hands want to use that time to help others, especially other veterans.

It is the responsibility of the Florida State Council to not only govern the VVA chapters in Florida, but also to assist them in their outreach programs. Some of that assistance is merely support of the local chapters formation and growth, representation at regional and national events to ensure that the initiatives and programs of the Florida Chapters are promoted and recognized. The council also provides local chapters with financial assistance in areas such as homeless, incarcerated, ill and addicted veterans. The council also supports the local chapters with education, guidance and much more.
